Bayesian Estimation of Shift Point in Shape Parameter of Inverse Gaussian Distribution Under Different Loss Functions
In this paper, a Bayesian approach is proposed for shift point detection in an inverse Gaussian distribution. In this study, the mean parameter of inverse Gaussian distribution is assumed to be constant and shift points in shape parameter is considered. First the posterior distribution of shape parameter is obtained. Then the Bayes estimators are derived under a class of priors and using variou...
متن کاملMaximum likelihood method for parameter estimation of bell-shaped functions on graphs
To estimate the location-scale parameters of a bell-shaped density on attributed graphs, we consider radial densities as approximations. The problem of estimating the parameters of radial densities on graphs is equivalent to the problem of estimating the parameters of truncated Gaussians in a Euclidean space. Based on this result, we adopt the maximum likelihood method for truncated Gaussians. ...
متن کاملParameter Estimation for Resin Transfer Molding
A simplified approach for estimating weld lines, vent locations and fill times for resin transfer molding applications in non-planar geometry is presented. The molding parts are treated as polyhedral spaces for which the concept of Voronoi diagram and shortest paths is utilized to predict the formation of weld lines, location of vents and filling times. The approach is based purely on geometric...
متن کاملFast Parameter Estimation Using Green's Functions
We propose a method for the fast estimation of hyperparameters in large networks, based on the linear response relation in the cavity method, and an empirical measurement of the Green's function. Simulation results show that it is efficient and precise, when compared with cross-validation and other techniques which require matrix inversion.
